Job Description

We are hiring a seasoned Credential Inspector with a strong background in infrastructure and utility construction to support critical public and private sector projects in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in large-scale civil construction and utility coordination, along with a proven track record of managing and enforcing workforce credentialing and compliance in complex job site environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement credentialing procedures for all on-site personnel, including subcontractors, utility crews, and inspection staff.

  • Verify professional licenses, safety certifications, operator qualifications, and other documentation relevant to infrastructure and utility scopes.

  • Monitor contractor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to workforce access and safety (e.g., OSHA, DOT, city permitting requirements).

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and utility providers to ensure crews working on water, sewer, electrical, gas, and telecom systems are properly credentialed.

  • Track and maintain credentialing logs, digital databases, and compliance reports for audit and project documentation purposes.

  • Support site safety and quality efforts by identifying uncredentialed or non-compliant personnel and recommending corrective actions.

  • Assist in the enforcement of environmental and safety protocols related to trenching, excavation, confined space entry, and utility tie-ins.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure or utility construction (civil, water/wastewater, electrical, gas, or telecom).

  • Certification as a Credential Inspector, Utility Safety Professional (USP), or similar credential.

  • Working knowledge of credentialing requirements for public works projects, including operator certifications, OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and CDL classifications.

  • Familiarity with city, county, and state utility permitting and inspection processes.

  • Excellent communication, tracking, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating with multiple utility companies and municipalities on joint trench or infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of GIS mapping and utility locates.

  • Proficiency with digital credentialing or compliance management tools.
