MEP Certified Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified MEP Credential Inspector to support active health care construction projects in Austin, Texas. This individual will be responsible for verifying and enforcing credentialing compliance across all construction personnel and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in health care construction and a strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and enforce credentialing protocols for all construction personnel, ensuring compliance with hospital, project, and regulatory requirements.
Review and validate certifications, training, immunization records, and background checks for all workers entering the site.
Maintain digital and physical credential tracking systems and ensure up-to-date documentation.
Collaborate with MEP teams to verify credentials for all specialty trades, particularly those working on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Conduct on-site inspections to verify MEP work is being performed by appropriately certified and credentialed personnel.
Support coordination with project management, safety, infection control, and hospital staff to meet construction compliance standards.
Generate and present credentialing and compliance reports as required by the owner or regulatory agencies.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in health care construction environments.
Proven experience working with MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) in a construction setting
Certification as a Construction Credential Inspector or similar compliance/inspection credential.
Strong understanding of hospital credentialing requirements, including Joint Commission, OSHA, and CMS standards.
Familiarity with infection control procedures (ICRA), interim life safety measures (ILSM), and Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) regulations.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using credentialing and compliance platforms.
Previous work in active or occupied health care facilities.
Additional certifications in MEP trades, construction safety, or health care compliance.
