PMG implemented Houston’s first Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) after Hurricane Ike. PMG responsibilities included: coordination of delivery, assemblage, and installation of 5,000 cots; coordinating 500 volunteers from different organizations; delivery and supply of Ice, water, and MREs to multiple Community Centers; coordination with the American Red Cross and the City of Houston to ensure proper procedures were followed. The DRC was built and open to the public in 24 hours.
