PMG primary task was to determine if there was any fraud in the leasing of apartments to Hurricane Katrina Evacuees. To do this it was necessary to determine whom, if anybody was occupying the leased properties. Information was taken from evacuees living in apartments and cross referencing their information with information on the lease. If there were individuals living in the apartments that were not part of the lease, FEMA was notified.
