IAH Terminal B Transformation
Houston Airport System (HAS) / United Airlines
Understanding the Challenge
The Houston Airport System and United Airlines are undertaking a large-scale renewal of Terminal B North at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), encompassing both airside and landside components, as well as a new Baggage Handling System (BHS) facility on the south side of the terminal. Given the project’s size, complexity, and number of stakeholders, maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation is essential for ensuring coordination across multiple design, construction, and operations teams. The challenge lies in managing the flow of critical project data, minimizing document discrepancies, and supporting effective collaboration among dozens of contractors, consultants, and project managers.
Our Strategic Intervention
PMG is providing comprehensive document control services to support the successful delivery of the Terminal B North Expansion. Our team manages and posts RFIs, submittals, daily logs, specifications, contracts, subcontract change orders, and approved change orders across multiple project management platforms, including Procore, ProjectSight, and Kahua. PMG also receives and processes design drawings from PGAL, performs detailed drawing overlays to confirm coordination and consistency, and distributes updated documents to relevant stakeholders. By maintaining precise version control and structured documentation workflows, PMG ensures that all project teams have access to accurate, current information to support timely decision-making and efficient execution.
Transformational Results
PMG’s document control expertise has strengthened the Terminal B North program’s communication and project management efficiency, ensuring that critical information is properly tracked, validated, and shared in real time. Our work has reduced administrative delays, enhanced coordination between design and construction partners, and supported proactive issue resolution throughout the program. The result is improved project performance and alignment across all delivery partners—contributing to the successful renewal of one of Houston’s most vital airport terminals.
