Health Science and Research Center & Western Hemisphere Trade Center Expansion
Texas A&M International University
Understanding the Challenge
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) launched the expansion of its Health Science and Research Center and the Western Hemisphere Trade Center to accommodate growing academic programs, research initiatives, and international partnerships. The project involves a major building addition designed to enhance instructional, laboratory, and collaboration spaces supporting STEM and trade studies. Key challenges include maintaining progress and quality control across multiple construction phases, ensuring compliance with TAMU System standards, managing safety, and mitigating potential disruptions to an active campus environment.
Our Strategic Intervention
PMG is providing comprehensive construction management and owner’s representative services on behalf of the Texas A&M University System. Our team oversees daily on-site operations, reviews contract documents, and provides consistent observation and reporting of all construction activities. PMG attends meetings on behalf of the owner, assists in resolving disputes, and ensures adherence to schedule, safety, and quality standards. Through daily reporting—including narrative summaries and photographic documentation—PMG delivers transparent communication to the client, ensuring accountability and timely decision-making throughout project execution.
Transformational Results
The Health Science and Research Center and Western Hemisphere Trade Center expansion will significantly strengthen TAMIU’s ability to support regional healthcare, research, and international commerce education. PMG’s active oversight and commitment to excellence ensure that the facility is constructed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Once complete, the new expansion will provide state-of-the-art spaces for innovation, research, and collaboration—advancing the mission of Texas A&M International University and contributing to South Texas’ academic and economic growth.
